SIA Level 2 - Award for working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry


This course is Ideal for anyone wishing to work as a CCTV operator. The Level 2 CCTV Operator course is a Regulated HABC qualification based on relevant SIA specifications for learning and qualification and provides learners with the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for an SIA license as a CCTV operator.

Subjects covered: 

  • Key purposes of the private security industry

  • The differences between civil and criminal Law, the roles and responsibilities of each member of the CCTV team

  • The importance of accurate record-keeping, equipment fault reporting procedures, and actions to take if a suspicious object is found in the CCTV control room

    Duration:Total of 32-hours of learning and the SIA stipulates a minimum of 23 contact hours (3-days) if flexible distance learning is undertaken. 

    Assessment: This qualification is assessed by a practical assessment and a multiple-choice examination.

What will I need to bring to the course?

All learners must provide WSG with 2 documents that prove your current address (dated within 3 months) and valid identification in order to complete the course.
